We need to normalize sharing our rate when someone asks if they can schedule a call or some time with us.

At the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey I said yes to every ask! I took it as a compliment that someone sought after what I had to say. Maybe you find it charming too? It quickly became unmanageable though and I found myself resenting these favours which started to drain all my good energy.

Energy I needed to protect for my own dreams and goals!

In 2020 I decided to start getting paid to give out advice and while it was uncomfortable sending my rates to friends who weren’t expecting an invoice for their “catch up”, it became my new standard. Some respect me more for it, others took it personally.
